SECR Meetings

  • Tuesday July 15th: City Council Meeting: Rochester City Council will be voting on a motion to approve pavement width changes for a variety of streets affected by the Broad Street Tunnel project. The Speak to Council session begins at 7pm, and the regular meeting begins at 8pm. We encouraged all interested parties to attend the meeting; to Speak to Council, you must call (585) 428-7421 before 6 p.m. of the Meeting day. SECR argues this motion should be tabled at this time.   • Thursday July 10th: SECR will have having a meeting at Nick Tahou's on Main Street at 7pm. All interested parties are invited to attend! For more info, please e-mail info@chillthefill.org.

 

  • Thursday June 12th: The City of Rochester is holding a series of stakeholder meetings for SECR, Erie Canal Rewatering Advocates, Rail Reuse Advocates, and others. Watch for updates.

 

  • Tuesday June 17th, 2008, 7pm, City Council Meeting, City Council Chambers, City Hall. City Council may not be fully aware of the City's current plans for the subway tunnel, and it is our job to bring home the message. We MUST show them how important this is to the community! PLEASE make arrangements to attend this meeting. Together we can CHILL THE FILL

 

  • Thursday June 19th, 2008: With the news just presented on May 29th, 2008 by the City of Rochester (click here for a link to the PDF of the Public Hearing document) that plans are being laid to permanently fill the Northwest portion of the subway tunnel while studying the remaining portion, we are continuing to discuss our strategies for awareness-raising, partner-building, and general tactics. We will be meeting at Nick Tahou's on Main Street at 7pm.

 

  • Saturday June 28th, 2008: Public Visioning Session for the Broad Street Corridor and Erie Canal Aqueduct / Broad Street Bridge from 10am to 3pm at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. All interested parties are strongly urged to attend this critical event hosted by the City of Rochester!
